Recipes To Try
My ‘Treats and Eats’ board has 422 pins on it, which seems a little excessive. The trouble with Pinterest is that people pin delicious looking things all the time, which I in turn repin because, duh, they look delicious but then before I realise it I’ve got a board with over 400 pins and I’ve made about 12 of them. Oops.
Here are a few of the latest pins that I’m itching to try out. Now that I’m (mostly) wheat free and dairy free I’ve been trying to find alternatives to the food I used to eat. First up:
Crispy Artichoke Chips
I love artichoke but normally only eat them in one of two ways. Boiled and then dipped in salad dressing or blitzed with garlic to make a tapenade. Crispy artichokes seem alluring (if potentially dangerous to make, heh).

I’m allergic to chicken but I can eat turkey so I’m always on the look out for interesting new turkey recipes since it isn’t always the most flavourful of meats. Cooking this one will also add to my Life List goal of cooking a meal from 25 different cuisines. Yay!
Quinoa Bites Source: thecurvycarrot.com
Quinoa is one of those things I eat now that I can’t have cous cous or pasta. I’m not very good at cooking it tho, it seems easy to overcook and trust me, overcooked quinoa is the saddest plate of food you’ve ever seen.

For all our love of them, Q and I are fairly hopeless at cooking desserts. Biscuits especially escape our grasp, turning out thin, spread out and mostly inedible every time we try to make them. To combat this I’m going to try and branch out into different desserts to see if we can break the curse. This is a dairy dessert tho (most of them seem to be) so it’ll have to wait for a special occasion.
Cherries are my favourite fruit and custard is one of my favourite things to eat so this is a pure winner for me. Substituting the dairy in custard shouldn’t be that hard either, so hopefully this is one that will make it’s way onto the staples list in our house (for the too short cherry season in this country, at least).
I could spend hours more going through my list but that’s what got me into this mess in the first place so I’ll leave it at these for now ;) Anyone want to come over for dinner?
